Stepping it up

I can’t stop stitching. Well, I can, but I don’t like to. I’m having so much fun seeing this come together that it’s frustrating to have other stuff like laundry and meals and sleeping to attend to …

And there’s some very happy news to share from daughter Meliss (click for full images) …

Not to mention a celebration for Meg’s birthday (click for full images) …

I love that Meg lit her own candles and started to sing with us … she’s such a great mom.

Come together

Needless to say, we’re having great fun finding fantastical creatures (which makes me think of Deb Sposa’s blob animal assignments given as 7th grade final exams).

And it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house, thanks to Don who is the lead decorator both inside and out (although I do get to hang bells and decorate the tree).

and liking the result, stamped up some nine-patches (click to see full images) …

As is my wont, I started in the middle with a patch of Tina’s cloth and a strand of Deb’s thread, worked in Jude’s split backstitch …

It takes a village, y’all.

Then I stitched a couple more patches from my Inktense shibori trials …

But I saved the best for last: patches of Parker’s Inktense handiwork

Then pieced everything together to create the top edge of E’s coverlet, which currently measures 14” x 38”…
