It’s a lot (aka no wonder I haven’t been stitching)

Parker’s fifth birthday, her first real party, at the Wildflower Center …

Logan’s prom pix …

Parker’s birthday continued …

Celebrating Meliss during her nurse pinning in St Louis (Jake and Jace missing out due to illness) …

And then graduation day (when Jace recovered enough to join us for dinner) …

Of course, no visit to St Louis would be complete without ice cream and art and music and more ice cream (this time with Jake, too) …

Meanwhile, back in Austin …

All topped of with a full moon eclipse visible from my stitching chair window …

Life is full and very very good.

  1. Busy busy busy .. all that family fun and celebrating. Families are an absolute Blessing!! Love seeing the picture of the little one play the ukulele .. for 5 years I was part of a group called Ukuladies. We would perform at nursing homes and womens groups etc etc .. I miss my dear ukuladies and hope to rejoin at some point. Really happy seeing all the pictures of you and your beautiful family.

    1. My mom used to play a uke … don’t know what ever happened to it, but it’s such a happy instrument … I love that J’s school teaches the ukulele in music class starting in 3rd grade

  3. Girlie girls in their dresses! A lot of celebrations, a lot to be proud of. Saw those tomatoes and thought gosh they got a head start then realized we were back in Texas. Ha! Lovely family you have!

    1. the tomatoes that are on the vine are probably all we’ll get as the temps are pretty steady in the 90s these days … fortunately, there are bunches of them ready to ripen

  4. I looked through all of these beautiful family pics and left for work with a smile on my face! So much to celebrate over there 🎉🥳🎈🎁👯‍♂️🍾
The Parker pics are so happy…little girls in nature in their party dresses…love that…it could be any generation, right?! Her little foot mid-air as she coasts around the house and that big happy smile in bed…priceless 🙂 There is so much music and art in your family and now…a nurse too! Wonderful!

  5. your life is certainly full and very very good, thank you for sharing these pics of your delightful family, their happiness and joy, not to mention love, radiates and sends ripples all over!
I googled Austin (Texas) and St.Louis (Missouri) as my sense of geography is hazy at best, they are far apart, who lives where Liz? I know I’m curious and you probably mentioned it before, but I have forgotten….

p.s. not to spoil the fun here, but wanted to mention I was just reading an article on a couple of women in Missouri who are pro-life and therefore anti-abortion, some BLM & pro-life, makes for a complicated mix, and in my clear-headed moments when my emotions don’t get in the way, I see how different people are entitled to holding different views, it would be really nice if we could all sit at a table and just listen to one another

    1. fortunately one of our daughters lives 15 minutes up the road from us in Austin, Texas … it used to take us two days to drive to our other daughter’s home in St Louis, Missouri … these days we fly since my eyesight isn’t good enough for extended driving (and flying only takes two hours non-stop)

conservative views and politics are awful in both Missouri and Texas… I have a real problem with the label pro-life as there are purported pro-lifers who also claim to be pro-gun rights and pro-capital punishment … if I had my druthers, pro-choice would include contraception that is free, safe and easily accessible in order that there might be less need for safe, easily accessible abortions … but in the meantime, let’s use DNA testing to compel men to provide 18 years of financial support for any child they are responsible for co-creating (as if that’ll ever happen)

    1. it’s actually super lightweight lined cotton dress, block printed in India and found during our “girls weekend” in San Antonio when we were celebrating Logan’s 18th birthday … which makes it even more special
