I loved Deb’s idea of hosting an online open house, so I’m following suit. Welcome to our home …

festively bedecked by Don …

who loves bedecking (lucky me!) …

To which I did make one small addition …

I’ve also been doing a bit of gift making …

far ahead of my usual timetable as I wanted to be sure to get one in the mail, now well on its way to Virginia.
And I’ve been stitching in response to Acey’s prompts, adding an orange nine-patch to my red nine-patch. But ever the radical, I decided to do the orange nine a different way, which led to the yellow nine …

And I’m not sure they will continue this way, but time will tell.
Finally, in synchrony with Emrie’s visit to Grace’s home, our Parker came over after preschool for her first solo visit …

Coloring and cookie baking and tree decorating …
were followed by after-dinner fireworks …
enjoyed from the catbird seat on PopPop’s lap in our backyard.
We do love our new home town!

Beautiful holiday decorations, special memories (((Liz)))

truth be told, if it was up to me there would probably be minimal decorating, but Don is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Christmas decorating … and I do love the end results … there’s more to come!

Well isn’t this just grand, an invitation to an open house, greetings by special snow people and best of all, wonderful art and entertainment by a dear, sweet “rocking” Christmas elf named Parker who brings laughter, Joy with a capital J and who knows how to bring the festivities to an all time high with her dancing…an elf after my own heart.
Thanks for inviting me to your open house Liz and Don. Imagine that I’m coming up the walkway with a basket filled with Biscochitos for you to go along with the cookies that you and P made. These cookies are New Mexico’s official state cookie and are served everywhere at Christmas. The special ingredient in this cookie is anise.
LIz your magical, unique Monopoly games are sure to delight your grands. What a terrific gift.
As always, you’ve a most special tree that I’m sure is filled with memorable ornaments. Felz Navidad (Merry Christmas in Spanish) from my house to yours.

Biscochitos sound wonderful … and there’s something about Monopoly that I have always loved. Don and I played a test game to see if my Nana Rules would work and had much fun (along with prompting a few tweaks)

Hi LA – love the joy, kindness and hope that this post is full of. Parker’s visit just seemed such a joy – what is not to like about painting, cookie making, decorating and of course dancing. I am really impressed by Don’s reindeer – very bedecking and creative. Go well, be safe, have joy. B

Parker was, in Meg’s words, over the moon to get a solo visit with us … the first of many to come, I’m sure. And G was gracious, acknowledging that he has had many a solo visit of his own … they’re such great kids!
