I’m much less frustrated with this piece …

I started to say “happier,” but the subject matter doesn’t allow for that.
Anyway, I started by looking for images of pre-2003 Basra and found these …

The arched windows … how could I use them? I turned to used tea bags, folded and cut one after another, then layered them on with glue stick …

Next I printed the picture postcard of “The Venice of Iraq” along with the recent Baghad assassination aftermath onto translucent ink-jet “vellum” …

More glue stick and I’m calling it done, for now …

What a powerful image. Tea bag layer is very effective.

Thanks Patty … I definitely held my breath as I began putting the glue stick on … fortunately the tea bags held up beautifully

Yeah, that watery image was the last thing I expected to find … and here’s to layers (especially when you can peer through them)

Just lost the comment I was composing. Really happy you were able to find a satisfying and effective re-vision. The materials you chose give you layers and depth without adding bulk. This can be a real plus when it comes to longevity of the completed work. Please don’t think of yourself as falling behind or needing to catch up. The only one who has to stay on top of the prompts is me. Everyone else is free to dally, re-visit, and whatever else they need to do as part of their learning process.

I’ve wondered how you are keeping up the pace of creating a new collage and two blog posts each day … for sure it was more than I could keep up with, but I’m very much looking forward to working/playing with each prompt in turn

The layers really work here! I was just remembering “vellum” use in my old printer. Isn’t it fun to play around like that?
