Years ago, when G was pre-schooler, we would pick him up early once a week and go on an adventure. Here’s a snap taken at Zilker Park that just popped up on my Facebook memory feed …

We most likely would have done much the same with Parker, but Covid made that an impossibility until recently. The good news is, starting yesterday we now have a standing date for Thursday afternoons. So we packed up water and sunscreen, picked up P after her nap, and headed for the Wildflower Center …






Everything was exciting and new when seen through her eyes, even though she’d seen it all before a long, long time ago …


Then we headed back to our house to play games, do puzzles, color pictures, and play hide-and-seek. All followed by dinner and dessert.
“Can we put sprinkles on the ice cream?”
Of course we can …


Every other Friday, our daughter Meg comes over to work while her house is being cleaned. And while I know she most likely won’t appreciate these candid photos …


I love that they capture her focus, her multitasking, and the ease she finds in simply being here “at home” with us.
A bit of hand-dyed muslin from our former Hill Country house was the perfect match for the Buck Pottery mug from The Barn in Gruene …

Process note: the stitching was a freehand mix of Jude’s split backstitch, running stitch and glue stitch worked variously with one or two strands of variegated thread …
