Where have I been?

Well, happy new year (at last) everyone! I’ve been off wandering around in my head as I imagine writing blog posts, rather than actually doing so.

There was one about the day after Christmas meal created by Meg and Paul from the Uchi cookbook (Uchi being an Austin restaurant par excellence) …

And the one I thought of writing about a glorious sunrise and the garden’s last gifts …

Then there was the one about a grandkid visit …

And G’s science project about ocean acidification …

Most recently I imagined a post about the now-commonplace gaps on the shelves at local food stores …

But above of all, I’ve been thinking about the moon … so yes, I think I’ll write next about the moon.

And E’s coverlet … there’s something to write about that, too …

Collared

Each time I hung Don’s painting shirts on the drying rack, I noticed they really needed mending. Not that he minded them … I did.

In truth, I had done some darning on one of them a while back, but obviously more needed to be done. So I cut away the ragged edges and pondered …

At first I considered using something with wild colors (I mean, they’re painting shirts). But when I went into the cloth closet, a recent thrift store purchase jumped out as the perfect choice …

Much better …

Last, but far from least …

which was made just before this little treasure was opened on Christmas morning …

A delightful pair!
