Finding peace

The original Peace Pin Project came about after the 2016 election. So the the timing of this latest iteration is no great surprise.

This latest batch of pins was stitched at St Liz, where I also gave away a “tend peace” and a “spread peace” pin, neither of which were photographed (oops) …

These three are heading to Stephanie in California, Connie in Texas, and Deb G in Washington (state), whose recent house painting inspire my floss color choices.

And it bears noting yet again that I especially love using Deb Lacativa’s “dirty threads” to bind the peace pins together …

Oh yes, and please do vote … I did and confess to getting a tear in my eye as I left the polling place. Hope springs eternal.

  1. Love the blues (of course). The stitched edges look so nice together. Funny, I like photographing my Medicine Bags like that too. There’s just something about a creative stack.

  2. LA – what can I say but wow – peace is portrayed so beautifully- so love the stitching on the edges – the three pieces held together are such a beautiful art image. Go gently. B

  3. Each peace pin that appears is such an uplift, spreads not only joy but hope. I am giving my Live Peace pins to my grandson and granddaughter, when they come here for Thanksgiving. I always have a little goodie bag for them and I thought the pins would look great pinned to the bags and I will tell them of my dear friend who spreads joy and peace.

Here in New Mexico, early voting started on Sat. Oct. 19th but absentee ballots were sent out on Oct. 8th. While we have always enjoyed voting in person, Rich has mobility issues so we did absentee ballots and they were received by the county clerk on Oct. 17th. It feels good to know that we can track our vote and know that they arrived. In a comment I made the other day on grace’s blog, I wrote of my immigrant parents, feeling so proud to be able to vote in the country that they chose to come to. They made it quite the occasion, Dad wearing one of his best shirts, Mom with a nice dress, her earrings and her purse to match her shoes. They felt honored to be able to vote and it is an honor, a privilege and an obligation, for all of us.

    1. I’m so glad to hear Rowie and Spencer (and their parents) will be with you at Thanksgiving, which is my most favorite holiday … and that peace will be shared in so many ways
