Our voices echoed from the third floor all the way down to the first floor … Save our kids … Raise the age … Do your job … over and over … stopping only to cheer the representatives who are known to support gun control

To have Republicans cross the aisle on guns is unheard of in Texas … it was the first small sign of hope, but there is a very long way to go

it felt incredibly good to shout “do your job” at the doors of the House of Representatives … to cheer the reps who support gun control as they entered the chamber … and then to get home and discover the needle had actually moved

sadly, the bill was killed in Calendar Committee … but there is still the small satisfaction of seeing two conservatives vote their conscience rather than their party line
