After quilting the red moon cabin onto My Heart’s Compass, I finished the edges with appliqué stitches …

Then laid the cloth onto the bed to pin on patches for the next phase …

I was equally happy when I did this on the other side, but disappointed to find that the location in the corner made it less visible as it was obscured by the drape of the cloth … this new location on the other side catches the eye for sure

Oh, this is looking so good Liz! I probably said this before, but those individual blocks remind me of Tetris! haha

Or the Stones song Tumbling Dice 🙂 That’s what I hear when I see them falling!

for sure I had Tumbling Dice in my head … which brought to mind a long ago summer dance where the cover band played that song

Cascading, colorful ,cloth squares and the whole of this is like a fantastical map of place and whimsy. See before climbing into bed, I would sit on the floor , look and touch each piece of cloth and and take myself to the places that you love and have created here. Each touch would hold the stories of each piece and in turn, this truly is a never ending, living story of your hearts compass…

I think this is why I hope never to be done working on this cloth … to keep it in hand is to revisit each memory
