The grass in Meg’s yard is separated from the landscape beds by a steel barrier. The grass laughs.
After all, there are lovely drip hoses in those landscape beds … just what grass loves. So it creeps under the steel, cozies up to the underground hose and then sends out runners … lots and lots of runners.
No pictures, cuz they’re kinda hard to take with gardening gloves on, but I’m pretty sure you can imagine what it’s like.
On the other hand, I do hope you have no personal experience with the kind of electrifying tooth pain that requires a root canal procedure.
Unfortunately, Don did … worse, it happened while he was in St Louis. So his trip was cut short by two days and he spent Monday at the dentist’s office, followed by the endodontist, who fit him in to the schedule.
With thanks to Deb Lacativa for cloth and threads that, sadly, were a perfect match for the memory …
P.S. I’m thinking this Instagram picture is a perfect match, too …

Grass with many roots, tooth with no root at all now! I hope he feels better by now.

I’ve gotta confess, I love pulling up “weed grass” … such gratification when you sit back and see what’s been accomplished …
but yeah, sitting in a dentist’s office not so much

LA – Pesky grass – a patch to record the ordinary. Sorry to note D’s disaster – pain. Go well. B

while I tend to lean in to the good, it seems only right (healthy?) to make note of the lows in life … keeping it real

Roots. I love that feeling of pulling up the runners and seeing how far they have been and how far I have pulled them back to. I have never had pain like that with a root canal; and its always so much worse when you are away. Hoping things are settling for Don.

Being home means everything when one is in any way ill … and yes, things are much better for Don
nice to know you share the positive feelings about weeding … this week we are in a rainy spell, so next week it should be easier to loose the weeds from fragrant soil

Ouch! so glad to hear that Don is feeling better after his root canal.I can just imagine having to fly home with tooth pain…brave guy! (Your patch with all of its reds is exactly how it feels to have a root canal.) Root canals and I are no strangers; one of my “front” teeth is a result of a root canal. As a child, I tried to do a handstand on of all things, a summer chair that had metal arms…yup! I landed open mouthed on the arm of one of those chairs. Twenty five years after that stunt, I woke up to a blackened tooth that had to come out via root canal. The replacement has never matched the rest of my teeth, it is so bright that if you ever need a flash light in the dark, no need…just take me along and ask me to smile!
Tracking down weeds here has been quite therapeutic. We have lots of sumac here and they send out runners everywhere. The first two weeks here, I weeded them and their runners practically took me all over the backyard. Also I will admit to weeding as a wonderful way to let go of anger and upset, I find it especially useful during elections!

I must say, that last line gave me a good chuckle!

Can identify with weed grass. Ugh. Poor Don. Not a pleasant experience. Colors really popped on those patches.

I did have fun turning the tooth diagram into pop art though
