Our corner of the world

Whenever we get “real” cards in the mail, we set them on our window benches and enjoy looking at them while we eat …

In December, the cards increase in number and are joined by Christmas ornaments, past and present.

Fingers crossed, here are two videos giving a closer look at the “holiday inhabitants” of our breakfast-lunch-and-dinner nook …

where I while away my blog reading time after breakfast, second cup of coffee in hand … visiting and revisiting Kindred Spirits, commenting and replying and re-reading. It’s a wonderful way to start each day.

Those of you who use the Kindred Spirits blog roll in the sidebar of my original blog may have noticed a newcomer. Rose in Australia has been quietly following Jude Hill and reading many of our blogs, leaving gentle comments from time to time. Now she has begun her own blog, Latitude 38S, and we have the rare opportunity to follow it from the outset. I do hope you’ll have a chance to get to know her there.

Meantime, Don and I appreciate all the ways we are connected to Kindred Spirits around the world … an ether-real village of like-minded folk who have become true friends. We send you all our best wishes for a joy-full holiday season and a peace-full new year.

Because always, I am ever grateful for your presence here.

  2. Cards and notes either in snail mail, or on the internet, warm the heart as does reading what’s going on here. As a former Texas resident, it is always a treat to read of goings on, now in your new town and home. Thanks for taking us along all of these years. May “the road continue to go on forever, the party never end” and may we ride the trails alongside you, Don and your wonderful family. Glad tidings, merry anticipation, jolly crafting and creativity, fun and hilarious family moments and most of all, a deep thank you for the joy that you have brought to all of us with your blog. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year.

  3. L&D – it is so good to be part of kindred spirit communities – they are solid. The physical cards etc are beautiful tangible reminders off the links. Love the paintings and tiny houses. May you and yours have joy and safety at this time and ahead. B

  4. Liz & Don,
May your season be bright. Videos don’t show up (just almost silent audio soundbar), but windowsills are charming and looks like a lovely place to eat in the sunlight. I’ll go peek at Roses place.

    1. Blog-land has gone slightly mad of late … images show up and disappear, seemingly at random … it appears that the videos are visible on at least some platforms/devices, but I’ll see if I can email them to you (which may be equally unsuccessful, but it’s worth a try) … meantime, may your Christmas and the new year ahead be peace-full, however that may be

    1. Ah, the cards … I haven’t sent any for decades now … as I said to someone recently (and I say this with a huge wink) I consider my lack of card sending to be “a major character flaw” (ha!)
